In a recent media interaction, businessman-turned-actor Legend Saravanan reflected on his early aspirations of acting and the journey that led him to pursue business first.
Set to make his return to the big screen with his second film, Leader, Saravanan shared his childhood dreams of becoming an actor during the film’s teaser launch. He recalled often speaking with his mother about his ambitions.
Speaking to the media, Saravanan said, “I’ve been passionate about cinema since I was a child. Back then, I had Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan’s pictures on both sides of my fridge.”
“I used to tell my mother that one day I would be like SRK and Salman Khan. But unfortunately, I had to step in to manage my father’s business. Whether it’s cinema or the textile industry, I’m always the first to arrive and the last to leave. I give my full dedication to whatever I do,” added the actor-businessman.
As for his upcoming project, Saravanan will star in Leader, directed by RS Durai Senthilkumar, known for Kaaki Sattai. The film tells the story of a father who is willing to go to any lengths, including violence, to protect his child from wrongdoers.
Produced by Saravanan himself, the film also features Sham, Andrea, Santhosh Prathap, Payal Rajput, Lal, Prabaharan, Amirtha Aiyer, VTV Ganesh, Iyal, Aishwarya, Mariam George, and others in pivotal roles.
The music and background score are composed by Ghibran Vaibodha, with cinematography by Venkatesh S and editing by Pradeep E. Ragav, known for his work in Jana Nayagan.
Saravanan previously made his acting debut in Tamil cinema with the film Legend, which he also produced. Directed by the JD–Jerry duo, the film centers around a scientist who returns to India after studying abroad to find a cure for diabetes after the death of his childhood friend from the disease.
The film, which starred Urvashi Rautela and Geethika Tiwary as the female leads, also featured Prabhu, Vivek, Suman, Yogi Babu, and Nassar in supporting roles. Despite high expectations, Legend received poor reviews from critics and ultimately performed poorly at the box office.
