Makanjuola Oluwafemi Emmanuel

Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II on Thursday June 18, 2026, experienced what stakeholders described as a “new dawn” in grassroots political engagement as a Federal House of Representatives candidate introduced a legal accountability agreement during a high-level stakeholders meeting.

The meeting, themed “Have Found The Way,” was convened by Makanjuola Oluwafemi Emmanuel, an Action Alliance candidate for the Federal House of Representatives, who presented what he called a binding social contract between himself and the constituents.

The gathering drew community stakeholders and dignitaries including Emeka Amaefunah, Ochijie Stanley, Ifeoma Obim, and Miss Florence, among others.

Candidate Presents Legal Accountability Framework

In his address, Makanjuola, who is 28 years old, described the initiative as a response to years of distrust between elected officials and constituents. He introduced a legally notarized agreement designed to empower community groups, associations, and organizations to hold him accountable should he fail to fulfill his campaign commitments.

According to him, the agreement includes provisions allowing constituents to initiate legal action for damages and pursue recall processes if promises are breached, with his explicit consent not to contest such actions.

Legal Agreement Pact

“For decades, our people have been used and dumped by representatives who make promises and abandon them after gaining power,” he said. “I have devised a different approach. This legal agreement is signed, notarized, and binding between myself and the people.”

He further explained that the framework was designed to rebuild trust in political representation and restore confidence in governance.

Vision and Policy Direction

During the meeting, the candidate restated his vision:

“To build a constituency where every resident has equal access to opportunities, basic amenities, and a voice in governance, fostering sustainable growth, unity, and progress.”

He also outlined four key mission pillars guiding his campaign:

Representation with integrity, accountability, and diligence

Economic growth, job creation, and youth empowerment

Strengthening social cohesion and inclusivity

Development in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and security

Makanjuola also highlighted his background as CEO of WINGLESS MEDIA, a digital media and technology enterprise, as well as his experience in project management and advocacy for good governance. He stated that his academic training in Media and Mass Communication contributed to his understanding of civic engagement and communication strategy.

Stakeholder Reactions

During the interactive session, Miss Florence raised concerns about public trust and political credibility, questioning what assurance the candidate could provide to constituents unfamiliar with his track record.

In response, Makanjuola reiterated that the legal agreement was intended to serve as a safeguard against unfulfilled promises, emphasizing enforceability through notarization and constituent participation.

Stakeholders present at the meeting reacted positively to the proposal.

Emeka Amaefunah commended the initiative, describing it as a courageous step toward political transparency, while urging the candidate to expand public awareness through media engagements and youth outreach.

Similarly, Ochijie Stanley supported the proposal and emphasized the urgency of ensuring that constituents are fully informed about the initiative, noting that time and public engagement would be critical to its success.

Background

Makanjuola’s political trajectory has included advocacy initiatives centered on governance reforms, including his involvement in a civic campaign known as A Call for Oneness, aimed at promoting unity and democratic participation within the constituency and Nigeria at large.
